Parrot Tip 1. Firstly, ensure that the training area is protected and secure. Shut and cover all windows in order to prevent your parrot escaping, and endeavor to make the area bright and cheerful without making it too stimulating. The room should be quiet, and your parrot’s cage should not be visible.

Parrot Tip 2. It is important that your parrot understands that training sessions are exciting! Talk to him/her and even offer petite parrot treats. As a rule, treats are used as reward for good behavior, but especially with an uneasy parrot, a small amount of food can go a long way in convincing your pet that this is enjoyable.

Parrot Tip 3. Always Reward your parrot when he or she carries out a command. Some parrot keepers choose to reward with a bite of fruit or veggie, while others prefer to offer a special toy. Whatever is chosen, always stay positive and consistent.

Parrot Tip 4. Practice every day, and try to practice at the same time (or as part of the same routine) every day. This helps your parrot anticipate your special time together and will also help him/her remember more from day to day.
